Movable Bridge for the Venice Arsenal

Design for a rotating bridge between the Porta Nuova banks within the Venice Arsenal, its profile recalling an inverted gondola: a lightweight single-span lattice arch, compliant with accessibility standards. In its normal configuration it functions as a fixed bridge allowing pedestrian and service vehicle transit; a hydraulically operated floating body beneath the bridge allows it to be raised and moved to let boats pass.
